Assistant Professor, Nursing (Maternal Child Health)
Three-Year Limited Term Appointment
Rhode Island College

The Department of Undergraduate Nursing at Rhode Island College invites applications for a three-year limited term Assistant Professor in Maternal Child Health to teach undergraduate courses and provide clinical oversight in maternal child health settings.

The Rhode Island College School of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The BSN and MSN programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The large baccalaureate nursing program partners with major health care agencies in the State and surrounding area to provide excellent nursing education. BSN graduates consistently achieve high NCLEX-RN pass rates: rates well above state and national averages. The student population is richly diverse: 26% report being minority, 12% are male and 25% are second degree candidates.

In September 2007, the School of Nursing began offering a Master of Science in Nursing program. The MSN program options include Adult/Geriatric Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthesia, and Population/Public Health. MSN graduates are demonstrating high certification rates. A DNP program focused on advanced practice began in September 2016. Members of the nursing faculty are experienced teachers who are deeply committed to fostering the intellectual and professional development of students. The nursing faculty are engaged in scholarship and serve as leaders in the community and profession. Alumni, in addition to numbering close to 5,000, are excelling in their careers as clinicians, teachers, and leaders.

Required qualifications include: Master of Science Degree in Nursing and relevant teaching and clinical experience.

Preferred qualifications include: Doctoral Degree; college teaching experience; specialization in maternal child health nursing.
