7-DAY TASTE OF THE AZORES TOUR

A unique archipelago of nine Portuguese islands spread over 400 miles in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean,
the Azores is truly a unique and beautiful destination. Rich in natural wonders, history, and culture, this is
a destination that can't be missed! On this 7-day itinerary, visit the Green Island of São Miguel, exploring
the capital city of Ponta Delgada and the Furnas region.

Itinerary
Day 1, May 5: Fly overnight from Boston to Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel on a non-stop flight.
Day 2, May 6: Arrive on the island of São Miguel and transfer to your 4-star hotel in Ponta Delgada. Use the day to acclimate to the new time zone or wander the cobblestone streets of Ponta Delgada. In the evening, your group will enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel with local beer and wine.
Day 3, May 7: Nurses spend the day touring a local hospital and medical facility in Ponta Delgada; round trip transfers are included. *This tour is optional to those who would like to participate.
Day 4, May 8: Enjoy a full day on a van tour of the Furnas region, stopping to enjoy the botanical gardens and
geothermal hot springs of Terra Nostra Park; the hot springs are said to have healing properties. Next, continue toone of Europe’s only tea plantations, as well as a few majestic viewpoints. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 5, May 9: Use this free day to discover all that the city of Ponta Delgada has to offer or book onto an optional excursions of a guided hike/walk from the parish of Faial da Terra to the “lost village” of Sanguinho.
Day 6, May 10: Spend your last full day in the Azores as you wish or book onto an optional half-day tour to the
western side of Sao Miguel to see the iconic blue and green crater lakes of Sete Cidades and visit a pineapple
plantation.
Day 7, May 11: Free time in the morning for a last minute walk or souvenir shopping and then in the early afternoon transfer to the airport for your non-stop flight to Boston.
